January 15  File IRS form 941 for prior period Q4 for W4 employees.  File State Unemployment form UC-5 for prior period Q4 with the Department of Workforce Development. Make payment for prior month 941.  Make payment for prior period Q4 (UC-1).
January 20 Sales Tax and Withholding Tax due date for early filers.  Keep in mind that some companies that have a low threshold for payroll volume will only be required to make an annual payment for withholding.
January 31 Sales Tax and Withholding Tax due date for regular filers.  Keep in mind that some companies that have a low threshold for payroll volume will only be required to make an annual payment for withholding.
January 31 Give your employees their copies of Form W2 for 2019. If an employee agreed to receive Form W2 electronically, have it posted on a website and notify the employee of the posting.  Also, 1099 forms are due to each person from whom your business received compensation.
January 31  File Form W3, Transmittal of Wage and Tax Statements, along with Copy A of all the Forms W2 you issued for 2019. If you file Forms W2 electronically, your due date for filing them with the SSA will be January 31. The due date for giving the recipient these forms is also January 31.
February 15  Make payment for prior month Federal 941 via EFTPS.
February 20  Sales Tax and Withholding Tax due date for early filers.  Keep in mind that some companies that have a low threshold for payroll volume will only be required to make an annual payment for withholding.
February 28  Sales Tax and Withholding Tax due date for regular filers.  Keep in mind that some companies that have a low threshold for payroll volume will only be required to make an annual payment for withholding.
March 15  S Corporations File a 2018 calendar year income tax return (Form 1120S) and pay any tax due. Provide each shareholder with a copy of Schedule K-1 (Form 1120S), Shareholder's Share of Income, Deductions, Credits, etc., or a substitute Schedule K-1. If you want an automatic 6-month extension of time to file the return, file Form 7004 and deposit what you estimate you owe.    S Corporation election. File Form 2553.
March 15  Partnerships Provide each partner with a copy of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065-B), Partner's Share of Income (Loss). This due date applies even if the partnership requests an extension of time to file the Form 1065-B by filing Form 7004. Then, file Form 1065 by September 15.
